Mission Statement

Lifecycle is an independent non-profit organization and free-standing, out-of-hospital birth center. Our team of midwives and nurse-practitioners provide empowering gynecology and birth-oriented health care to clients in a trusting and caring environment. Lifecycle advocates for and educates about the midwifery model of care.

 

Vision

Lifecycle envisions the midwifery model of care becoming the standard practice across the world when it comes to primary reproductive healthcare. We believe that it is our responsibility to challenge the system at its core, and serve as a model for how to achieve better birth and reproductive health outcomes through a deeper partnership with our clients.

 

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Commitment Statement

Lifecycle strives to create a trusting, safe and caring environment for clients and employees. Structural racism and gender bias in society requires Lifecycle to take additional steps to enhance diversity, equity, and inclusion, ensuring that all individuals feel safe, appreciated, and treated with respect. An inclusive and equitable workplace is an ongoing process to which Lifecycle is committed.

At our core, we value and uphold lifecycle events—such as puberty, birth, and menopause—as natural and healthy transitions. We are committed to providing education and evidence-based midwifery care that supports these milestones.

Central to our values is fostering a trusted partnership between clients and providers. We empower through education, enabling informed healthcare decisions that prioritize individual needs.

We champion a diverse range of choices for clients during childbirth, ensuring personalized care that respects preferences and promotes well-being.

Our commitment to excellence is reflected in our status as a financially secure non-profit organization. We prioritize employee satisfaction, valuing their contributions and nurturing a supportive community.

Advocacy is integral to our mission. We stand for reproductive justice and advocate for the advancement of the midwifery profession.

Education lies at the heart of our initiative. We educate future healthcare providers, administrators, and those interested in the midwifery model of care, ensuring continuity and excellence in healthcare practices.
