Birth education supporting you for the contractions of birth and the contractions of life.
Having a baby is one of the most transformative and meaningful experiences in a person’s life. The benefits of mindfulness (the awareness that comes from learning to pay attention to the present moment, on purpose, and non-judgmentally) can help us navigate this important event, as well as prepare us for a lifetime of parenting.
Based on Jon Kabat Zinn’s Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction curriculum, this 9-week class series, developed by an MBSR teacher and midwife, Nancy Bardacke, will provide you with skills for the mind and body to support you and your partner as your unique pregnancy and birth unfold, moment by moment.
During the MBCP class series, you will learn to:
MBCP is an excellent course to take any time during pregnancy, but most people prefer to begin the course at the beginning of their third trimester.
This course is taught by Molly Weingrod and Carol O’Donoghue, CNM. Molly is a childbirth educator, birth counselor, and doula with over 10 years experience working with parents. Carol is a midwife at Lifecycle. She became a midwife in 2002 and has been involved with birth and reproductive health since 1988.
This class is $450 per pregnant person and partner/support person for the 9-week series or $300 for the 5-week series. Lifecycle clients receive a $50 discount!
