In October we were surprised to have a visit from our neighbor, Kevin Momenee, who made us an intriguing offer. His engineering company has been our good neighbor since 1996. Kevin and his wife Isabel believe in our mission of providing personal and empowering healthcare and advancing the midwifery model of care. When they decided it was time to sell, they offered us the first chance to purchase the building.
The Momenees recognize that this provides us with a golden opportunity to grow and expand our services. After careful consideration by our Board of Directors and our Leadership Team, we realized they were right. And so, we are pleased to announce that we recently purchased this building, adjacent to our main center on County Line Road in Bryn Mawr.
With a nearly identical footprint to the original Birth Center, LWC’s new building unites our past and our future. Renovations will begin soon, and once the space is ready, our Education Department and Administrative Offices will move in. All of our birth suites and clinical office space will remain in the existing building.
We are especially looking forward to opening the new LWC Education Center, where we’ll be able to offer expanded availability for trainings, support groups, classes, and workshops. With the additional space in our main office, we plan to create more exam rooms and establish on-site counseling and social work services to support clients coping with mental health challenges.
Perhaps most excitingly… we’ll have 18 more parking spaces!
Thank you to the Momenees for believing in LWC and giving us the opportunity to provide more support and services to families in our area.
Stay tuned for more information about how you can be a part of this exciting transformation.
