Greetings from the Lifecycle WomanCare Education Department!
Over the past year we have worked to expand our educational offerings, bringing you a multitude of guest and staff-facilitated workshops and classes that are open to the public and inspired by themes you have requested. Some of our upcoming workshops include:
These offerings, plus a host of one-time courses, uphold our mission of providing education not just to our clients, but to the greater community as well. We believe wholeheartedly that ongoing education is a critical element of high-quality care and that people are in the best control of their own health only when they have access to empowering education and information.
NEW THIS FALL, we have added another One-Day Childbirth Preparation class, one Sunday per month, that is open to the public. We are thrilled to finally offer this option to families in the community who are looking for comprehensive, empowering childbirth education.
Those of you who follow our Facebook page might remember a fundraiser we held to raise money for both our Education and Lactation Programs. Because of your support we were able to purchase the latest edition of a treasured DVD we use in our Preparation for Childbirth series called The Stages of Labor (Injoy Health Education). This film, highly touted by Penny Simkin (author and co-founder of DONA International), includes the most up-to-date and comprehensive information available with regard to anatomy of pregnancy, pre-labor signs, onset of labor, the four stages of labor and much more. It has proven to be the perfect adjunct to our staff-developed childbirth education curriculum.
If you have a need for a particular workshop or class, please contact our Programs Coordinator, Nikki Graham.
