Our practice is led by highly educated Certified Nurse Midwives, Certified Registered Nurse Practitioners, and Registered Nurses. All of our midwives are registered nurses who hold graduate degrees in midwifery. They are certified by the American Midwifery Certification Board and are licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Most appointments at Lifecycle last 30 minutes to allow for ample time to ask questions and establish a trusting relationship with our providers.
Meet our Team
Lifecycle offers the option of planned hospital births in partnership with Bryn Mawr Hospital (BMH).
Clients receive a continuum of care from Lifecycle providers throughout pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum (including a home visit). Prenatal and postpartum appointments take place at Lifecycle. Labor and birth will take place at BMH in their Labor and Birth Unit with Lifecycle midwives in attendance.
Whether you deliver at our birth center or at the hospital, the midwifery model of care leads to exceptional outcomes, including: lower instances of cesarean delivery, a faster and easier return home for the birthing parent and baby, and higher rates of breastfeeding/chestfeeding.
Lifecycle also emphasizes the value of uninterrupted skin-to-skin contact immediately after birth. Research has shown the wide ranging benefits of immediate skin-to-skin contact, including greater respiratory, temperature, and glucose stability for the baby and improved attachment between the parent and baby.
Lifecycle practitioners offer compassionate care and personalized attention to help clients through these difficult losses. In addition, we have a multitude of local and community resources in order to provide you with comprehensive and ongoing support.

Anyone with a low-risk pregnancy may receive care at Lifecycle. There are a few conditions that can make out-of-hospital birth unsafe. This includes people with diabetes, chronic high blood pressure, a BMI of 40 or above, or other serious medical conditions. Additionally, we cannot support vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC) at this time. If you have specific questions about risk factors, please contact us to discuss.
Lifecycle is an Accredited Freestanding Birth Center with the Commission for the Accreditation of Birth Centers (CABC). Additionally, we are licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Health and we’re proud members of the American College of Nurse Midwives (ACNM).
